How do I submit dataset requirements to NYCD-Design?
When you reach out, let us know the 3D CAD types you'd like custom data for. ideally categories common in real manufacturing, so the delivered dataset reflects genuine production logic. What you submit is essentially equivalent to a standard industrial design and structural design requirements document.
We recommend listing the following points:
3D Product type/category: consumer electronics, home appliances, industrial equipment, hardware components
Overall dimension range: each 3D data length/width/height or key envelope dimensions
Primary manufacturing process: injection molding, CNC, sheet metal, laser cutting, die casting, etc.
Material requirements — specific materials or combinations (ABS/PC, aluminum alloy, stainless steel, etc.)
Surface finish — sandblasting, painting, silkscreen, laser engraving, anodizing, etc.
Structural detail requirements — fillet radii, draft angles, wall thickness range
Assembly relationships — whether multi-part assembly is involved, snap-fit or screw fastening methods
Document Annotation depth — whether DFM annotation, bilingual annotation, or functional semantics are required
Supporting modalities, whether render, TechDraw drawings, point cloud, or other paired outputs are needed
If you don't have exact parameters yet, that's fine — we'll apply industry-standard best practices for typical dimensions in that product category, so incomplete information won't delay project kickoff.
